In September 2009, Lima relocated to a CO²-neutral, environmentally-friendly building, which means that our company’s operations no longer have a negative impact on global warming.
To reach this aim, we made use of the “carbon inventory” calculation method.
The following factors contribute to the CO²-neutral character of the building:
- Reduced energy consumption through the optimal use of natural light and energy from renewable resources:
- Super-insulating materials
- Green electricity
- Night cooling system (avoiding cooling during the day)
- Rainwater harvesting for company use.
- Using environmentally-friendly materials to protect nature.
The aim of these parameters is to create a rational, sustainable and environmentally-friendly building.
This building and installation concept developed according the principles of sustainable construction offers multiple advantages:
- Avoidance of costly subsequent adjustments
- Low operating costs
- Lower consumption of raw materials, water and energy
- Reduction of waster and emissions
- Better sorting of waste
- Sustainable construction
- Better company image
