Our nutritional policy

Lima products have, since 1957, been meeting not only very strict organic and qualitative criteria, but also fundamental nutritional rules.

Scientific studies have already proved that the quality of our diet has been able to contribute to improving our health by up to 25% and to preventing so-called civilisation illnesses. High quality food combined with a moderate diet and a health way of life are the foundations of harmonious living.

Lima products are conceived so as to best preserve the natural riches of the ingredients of which they are made.

Necessary sources of energy

Proteins

Proteins provide essential amino acids in good quantity (“essentiel”, meaning the amino acids that the body cannot produce itself). Through our products we favour the combination of cereals and pulses, which provides high quality proteins without the disadvantages of animal proteins (rich in saturated fats and containing cholesterol)

Fats

A good composition of fats in the diet is extremely important for our general health. We attach great importance to offering in our products sufficient unsaturated fatty acids (polyunsaturated: omega 3 and omega 6) and few saturated fatty acids and little cholesterol.

Carbohydrates

Cereals are the main provider of the energy components that feed our bodies. Lima products are produced mainly from whole grains in order to benefit from all of their goodness.

Components intended to protect our bodies

Fibre and vegetable substances called phytonutrients.

A fibre-rich diet is very important, particularly for good intestinal transmission, which has a positive impact on our general health. Fibre mainly comes from unrefined vegetable food substances, and for this reason Lima products are unrefined or only partially refined.

Les éléments essentiels dont notre corps a besoin

Vitamins, minerals, trace elements, essential fatty acids and essential amino acids.

All of these are essential elements that are indispensable in countless vital physical mechanisms and their provision is assured by a diversified diet, rich in cereals, pulses, fruits and vegetables.

You will have understood that although essential in our view and guaranteed by the inflexible checking of our Lima Expert laboratory, the Organic and GMO-free criteria are not the only ones taken into account in the development of a Lima product.

Our food ethics can be summarised in 4 inseparable points which covers the main elements of a nutritional analysis: proteins, fats, carbohydrates and fibre.
